EMAK Communications & Civils Pty Ltd offers drilling and hydrovac services alongside our construction services. We specialise in pit, pipe, and pipeline civil works construction, and communications network construction and maintenance (fibre and copper).

We hold all the required licensing to undertake electrical works.

Our business management system includes detailed documentation of our processes to ensure and maintain high standards of Quality Control, Health, Safety, and Environmental Management.

Horizontal Directional Drilling / Boring Services

Our drill fleet includes a Ditch Witch JT30 All Terrain Rock Drill, a Vermeer D36x50 machine, and a Ditch Witch JT520. This diverse range of drilling equipment enables us to effectively tackle projects in various environments, including limited access areas.

We have the capability to install pipe ranging in diameter from less than 50mm diameter to one metre diameter. The longest single shot length is approximately 300m.

Hydrovac Excavation Services

Leveraging our specialised hydrovac equipment, we offer a diverse range of expert and practical solutions for both remedial and preventative measures. Hydrovac excavation is a non-destructive excavation process that combines pressurized water and industrial-strength vacuum equipment. This innovative approach results in the the safe and efficient excavation and removal of soil. As a result, EMAK Communications and Civils has successfully provided drilling and hydrovac services to private, commercial, and government industries throughout North Queensland.

Services Location and Protection

The EMAK team of Telstra Approved Plant Locator (APL) staff are equipped with precision cable and pipe location instruments as well as Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) and Vacuum Excavation (Potholing) trucks. Harnessing these advanced tools, we are able to safely excavate in any buried infrastructure environment through infrastructure exposure and positive identification, consequently maximising protection from accidental damage.

Pit and Pipe Infrastructure Projects

Our fleet of earth-moving machinery includes excavators, compaction wheels, bobcats, vacuum excavators, tippers, a loader crane truck, and multiple support vehicles. Additionally, our team consists of industry-accredited and experienced staff, as well as a highly experienced management team. We are confident in our ability to deliver projects, regardless of their size or complexity, on time and within budget.

Examples of Pit and Pipe projects include:

• Pit and Pipe infrastructure from Townsville, Mt St John Waste Water Upgrade project to Townsville Council Dalrymple Rd depot, a distance of five kilometres
• Installed Pit and Pipe Infrastructure in excess of twenty kilometres for the National Broadband Project (NBN).
• Townsville City Council water main replacement program.

Optical Fibre Cable Design Construction Maintenance

EMAK staff are highly skilled and experienced in all aspects of optical fiber cable construction. This includes but is not limited to network design, construction, jointing, commission testing, fault diagnosis, and restoration. Additionally, we possess cable haul winches with calibrated tension limiting, as well as modern, maintained, and calibrated splicing machines and OTDRs. We are ready to assist you with your network design and construction, whether it’s a small internal multimode fiber link at a school or kilometers of buried Carrier single mode fiber.

Traditional Copper and Structured Cabling Services

Small to large sized traditional copper, and structured cable, jointing and testing. End to end, Data Centre to Data Centre, Data Centre to Terminal Outlet, structured and Wide Area Network cabling solutions. Accredited to provide end to end proprietary 20 year warranties for Krone products.

Examples of cabling projects include;

• Re-location and upgrade to the ex-Thuringowa Council Data Centre,
• Department of Defence fibre and structured cable, construction and maintenance.
• Terminated spliced and tested thousands of NBN network fibre connections, loose tube simplex and ribbon cable.

Our team of trained electricians specialise in commercial, government and residential installation projects as well as service and maintenance. Additionally, our strong focus on customer service means we have tackled projects of all sizes and tailored each of our services to our clients’ specific requirements.
